BMW M3 GTS goes to the ‘Ring 24hr

There were mullets aplenty, dodgy tattoos - including an otherwise attractive young lady who had Opel's ‘blitzen' logo on her back - and if you stood far enough away the drifting smoke made the place look like something from (I)Apocalypse Now(I). No doubt about it, the Nürburgring is not for the faint of heart. Or the faint of hair.

But the lack of surprise didn't stop the tongues drooling and eyes goggling when we clapped eyes on the new 458 Spider ahead of its debut at the 2011 Frankfurt motor show.

That's according to the federal government's annual U.S./Canadian parts-content figures, as posted on new-car window stickers and required by theAmerican Automobile Labeling Act (AALA).

2012 BMW 5-Series M Diesel

Exterior

Aesthetically, you won’t see a whole lot of difference between this diesel-powered M5 and the gas version, but in the interest of fairness, it’s only right to talk about what’s in store if you make this purchase. Suffice to say, the new M5 appears a lot more dynamic and stylish than its 5-Series counterpart, thanks to the addition of M-specific design features.

Just ask Porsche, Audi or BMW…it’s great to have your production cars bask in the warm afterglow of a successful competition effort. Or a reasonable facsimile thereof; it’s a race car, after all.

2013 Dodge Viper

The 2013 Dodge Viper is about to become a little more civilized, though not at the expense of tire-smoking performance and testosterone-fueled design. If anything, the next-gen Viper is going to pack an even bigger punch than the models that have come before. Our spy photographers recently captured Viper prototypes with what appears to be a production-ready front fascia, grille and hood.

"I believe the car is a strong statement from Kia,” Kia’s Chief Design officer Peter Schreyer said of the concept vehicle in a statement. “We are ready to fast forward to an all new chapter."

Audi Q6 (2016): Audi’s crossover coupe scoop

For Audi, the Q suffix is like a licence to print money. The Q-boom began with the Q7, reached a new high with the Q5 and is about to go stratospheric with the Q3. But that is only the beginning: the coupe-like Q6 was given the nod earlier this year, the three-door Q4 is almost ready to be signed off, and the entry-level Q1 is allegedly only a formality.

DETROIT (Bloomberg) -- Mike Sussman is one of the buyers helping General Motors Co. come back in the small-car business. The 45-year-old systems analyst just traded in a Toyota Prius for a Chevrolet Cruze, seeking both high mileage and more pep.
"I was very, very leery about buying U.S., to be honest," said Sussman, who lives in Greensboro, N.C. "They got me with the mileage. It actually drives like a regular car. With a Prius, you always feel like you're driving a science experiment. It just doesn't have a lot of guts."
